It's December... I don't recall the last time we practiced... But we have been playing shows. Our myspace says we're working on new stuff, but that's only half true. Dan has written some new tunes, and I wrote some new lyrics, but Dan forgot the tunes, and I lost the lyrics... So who knows when we'll have something new... Def not till next year at least. Dan is going on tour with the Effort, filling in on guitar, IN EUROPE!!! Ray is filling in on bass for Fare Thee Well this winter tour (last winter tour I was supposed to fill in on bass but then Jesse ended up going, the winter tour before Dan was supposed to fill in on bass but then Jesse ended up going, so lets see how Ray's luck goes...). Cal is working his ass off. Adam is obviously going on winter tour with Fare Thee Well also because he's in the band, and I'm trying to figure out what to do while everyone's gone... As of this moment I am also going on FTW's winter tour, taking photos, and causing trouble. Should be a blast.

July.
July has been a pretty good month. Played some great shows with some great bands we hadn't played with yet (Ruiner, The Carrier, Braindead, Kids Like Us, Signs of Hope, Only The Brave, Full Count, and more). Have some more awesome shows coming down the pipe. Hopefully writing some more new material soon. The newest song (Fuck Caleb) seems to be more of a crowd pleaser than previous endeavors. Whatev, life is good, and everyone has been having a great summer. See you guys soon!

A video.
So I have yet to fuck up words to any of our songs during shows yet, it's my greatest fear when we play... Then the other night it happened... But to add insult to injury, xcody!x got it on film. Peep the video for a good laugh, the whole last verse is shot to shit, whatever. This can't be taken too serious, it's hardcore.
Thanks to Cody for this.
We have a bunch of shows coming up, peep the myspace.

Our First Show (Tony)
It was amazing playing with and in front of everyone last night. Roxie took pics for us via my camera and I put them up on artripoli.com, along with all the photos I took.
Thanks to everyone who came out in support of us, from the regular kids at all the local shows, to my friends who have never been to a hardcore show, thank you all.

First Show
Well, our first show was last night, and all I can say is thanks. Thanks to all the kids who come out every time and support bands that play here. It's awesome to see everyone having a good time and singing along. We've got some more shows coming up so we'll see everyone there. Really though, thanks a ton everyone. I know I speak for everyone in the band when I say this. We wouldn't get anywhere without you guys. <3

Last night.
Last night was the See It Through/Fare Thee Well/Headlights to Sunset show. See It Through was running late and we were trying to buy time before Fare Thee Well went on. Everyone from GS was there, so we grabbed FTW's gear and played one cover song (American Nightmare - Hearts). Everyone seemed pretty stoked, and we had a good time. Now we're extremely looking forward to May 19th.
Practice tonight, working on some new stuff. See you all on the 19th.
- Tony
P.S. Be on the lookout for possible summer shows with Have Heart, Verse, and more... More details in time.

Stoked. "Goodbye"
Well we posted our 4 song demo up on myspace finally, and the feedback we have received has been extremely positive. I'm really happy people are stoked on it, we put a lot of ourselves into it.
Yesterday while running some errands I got an IM on my phone from a friend asking me if I was depressed. I laughed and asked why? He told me read the lyrics to "Goodbye" and said I sounded suicidal... I guess this would be a good place to discuss the lyrics to my favorite song on the demo.
Goodbye:
A lifetime of ups and downs
When do I find that stable ground
When can I piece my life back together?
I'm just searching for the end, just seeking a conclusion to this pain
No light at the end of this tunnel
No silver lining can be found in these clouds
The pain it stays with me for milesI can't shake this hurt, can't forget my
So this is life?
This is what it feels like to be alive?
I choose death (No)
I choose to not live this nightmare anymore (No)
I choose to not live this nightmare anymore
Closing my eyes, goodnight
I've been bled dry
These wounds just never seem to heal
These are the last words you'll ever hear spill from my mouth
Goodbye
This is the final goodbye.
I started these lyrics when I was really down about some girl stuff. It seems like forever ago now, but when we play this song these words take me right back for a few minutes.
A lifetime of ups and downs... I still feel like this every day, and I'm sure everyone else does, what's that old saying, nothing gold can stay? Something like that, well that's exactly what that line means to me, and honestly it's the most powerful line of the whole song. The next few lines are those oh-so-typical lines that rush through my head every time I'm depressed. I just wonder when I'm going to find some stability and stop feeling like shit, and although I know everything will be better, I can't see far enough into the future to recognize the pain will go away. The pain it stays with me for miles... The girl who was the motivation for these lyrics lived something like 150 miles away or so, and yet so far away from everything that reminded me of her I was still living with pain. The next few lines I could see being confused for a suicidal cry for help. I choose death/I choose to not live this nightmare anymore... They could be taken as a cry for help, but looking back on it I feel like I was stating that the person I had been was dying, and the nightmare was going to end.Closing my eyes, goodnight/I've been bled dry/These wounds just never seem to heal... I felt like I had been emotionally drained and it felt like I was never going to get better, all I did was sleep the days away. These are the last words you'll ever hear spill from my mouth/Goodbye... These lines are more speaking directly to the person who "ruined my life." Truth be told I didn't talk to her for a very long time, but now we're just fine.
Life goes on, and if it wasn't for the girl in question above I would have never met the amazing girl I am with now. Life has a weird way of working out, but it always does.

Tony's thoughts as of now.
So we've been practicing a couple times a week and things are really coming together a lot faster than I had initially anticipated. We're set to record our demo on Wednesday, so be checking the Myspace for tracks soon. Honestly, I'm nervous to record, but excited at the same time. I can't wait.
First show is set for May 19th at Eastside Tavern with xTake Controlx, Fare Thee Well, and Pharos. I'm really pumped for that as well.
Once we get some music up I will post lyrics.

Cal Gets Serious
So sitting here at work I really felt the need to write a blog about my feelings on this band so far. Although we've only been working together for a couple weeks now and have yet to even play a show, this band already represents such a strong outlet for all the emotion in my life. It's such a release to cram into our 6 foot ceiling practice space and write/run through songs until our fingers bleed. I just want everyone who reads this to know that I can't wait to share with everyone what we've been working on as of late. I hope you all get as stoked about it as I already am. We've already got a couple shows lined up. More info on those at a later date...
Much love,
Cal
PS- Listen to the new Blacklisted album on repeat over and over and over again.

Winding up.
I've always been big on documenting things, from writing, to photographing, to video taping, I always have seen myself as a one man documentary crew of the things that go on in my life. I guess the fact that I set up a blogspot for this band when it was just a distant idea in mine and Dan's mind is kind of a testament to that.
Who knows how often myself or the rest of the band will choose to write in this, but it is here, and I felt the need to say the opening piece to whatever this band may become.
So check back time to time, because if no one else does, I'm sure I will write in this blog here and there.
